The job pays about $1,600 a month but will have the satisfaction of being under the spotlight even though he or she is a secretive ninja,the Japan Times reported, citing a poster ad.
They will perform acrobatics, fling their trademark shuriken (ninja stars) and pose for photographs with tourists in an area known for the historic Nagoya castle.
Speaking Japanese is preferable, but non-Japanese applicants will be considered because the ninjas also will perform in English, tourism official Satoshi Adachi told the site.
Men and women aged 18 and above of any nationality may apply for the post until March 22.
Our ninjas also have to be good at talking to promote tourism, although ninjas are basically required to be secretive,he said about the current versions of the 15th century warriors.
They also have to be able to do backward handsprings and some dance moves, he added.
Newly minted ninjas will undergo a month of training in April and the job starts in May.
