5 Tea Blends to Boost Your Health

by Karuna In: Kitchen - 0 Comment

Green Tea + Lemon

1. Green Tea + Lemon

The usual lemon tea that we have uses black tea, opt for green tea for this version of lemon tea.

Citrus juice brings out green tea’s antioxidants, making them more available for your body to absorb.Note: Do not add the lemon directly after making the green tea, make sure its slightly cooled down as high temperature will destroy the Vitamin-C in the lemon.

2. Oolong Tea + Osmanthus

Oolong tea helps with digestion and Osmanthus helps with improving appetite and easing toothaches and bad breaths. Oolong tea is best prepared using dark-red enamelled pottery or ceramic pottery. The temperature of the water should be between 93 – 96 degree Celsius and NOT boiling. Add dried Osmanthus after steeping the Oolong Tea.

3. Jasmine + Chrysanthemum

Combination of the two fragrant flowers aids in appetite improvements but its also good for the eye. Let the flower tea combination steep for at least 10-15 minutes. Add in some Wolfberry if you like to increase its health benefits.  For those who has problems with their digestive system, eg. Gastritis should not take too much of this particular tea.

4. Pu Er Tea + Orange Peel

This tea blend is particularly helpful for those who have issues with their digestive system as it is less aggressive towards one’s digestive tracts. Prepare Pu Er Tea with orange peel with hot boiling water. Its important not to have Pu Er Tea after meals and before sleep as it contains caffeine.

5.Black Tea + Ginger

Ginger is beneficial to those who suffer from cold limbs and those suffering from irritable bowels. The combination of black tea and ginger makes it much easier to drink especially when ginger is spicy.  Take any black tea, Lipton for example is a good choice and prepare it using hot boiling water. Add in few slices of ginger and let it steep for at least 5minutes. Add honey for sweetness.
